Wobble & Squint is delighted to announce the opening of the exhibition “Taken Away”.

Taking place in a vacant Take Away restaurant on Exmouth market the exhibition brings together a group of twenty-eight artists who explore our need to escape. Obsession, fantasy, emancipation, dream, and spontaneity are some of the facets examined. Works exhibited include paintings, mixed media construction, film and photography. They are not merely a documentation of the wishes and tendencies to evade but an invitation to question those mental diversions.

Documentary filmmaker Guy Bolongaro draws the portrait of an everyday escapist in “The last emperor”. Brooke Wyatt’s collages are an intake of everyday stimuli, internally processed and reconstructed. Photographer Chloe Sells questions place and placelessness, the real and the imagined.
