Rum N Riddim at Boxpark Croydon on Saturday 25 November 2017

Fresh from a sell out carnival stint, the event will see a tantalising line-up of cutting edge acts from the full spectrum of dancehall, grime, garage and jungle, culminating in an unmissable show. Some of the biggest names in the business including Shy FX, D Double E, Donae’o, Crazy Cousinz, Benny Page & Sweetie Irie and more will take to the Boxpark stage, bringing a taste Jamaican heat to Croydon. 🔊

Founded in 2016 by legendary producer Benny Page and manager Hal Hudson, the night was set up as a home for real lovers of Jamaican music right from its roots in the carnival, inspired dancehall and reggae anthems that were on rotation on sound systems around the country, with a huge mix of bass-heavy electronic sounds thrown in for good measure. Previous shows have seen the like of Congo Natty, Gyptian, Frisco, AJ Tracy, Toddla T, Logan Sama and many more perfrom to sell out crowds throughout the UK.

The undisputed king of DnB Shy FX will be taking the reins for the Boxpark Croydon exclusive, bringing his inimitable Digital Soundboy rhythms to eager crowds. D Double E, widely seen as one of the greatest UK MCs to have graced the mic will perform, as well as London collective Crazy Cousinz, Benny Page & Sweetie Irie and many more.

Each event will see industry professionals and experienced renegades offer invaluable advice, answer questions, and talk through their personal experience.

Art Against Knives Gallery invites you to their goodbye party this Thursday 27th September from 6-9pm.

Come and get your hands on artwork donated by a range of established artists, emerging talent and the young people AAK work with. They will be offering up to 20% off on selected artwork, with the proceeds of sales going straight back into funding the creative opportunities AAK so excellently provide for young people in London.

The past ten months has seen the AAK gallery host collaborative projects with local businesses, youth providers and the creative industry to support the ideas and talent of young people across London. The gallery has provided space to exhibit young people’s artwork, showcased their short films, housed a range of creative workshops and provided valuable work experience placements for local young people. Utilising the space in these ways has been an incredible experience, and an extremely successful way of engaging the entire community in talking about issues that affect us all.

The evening is also their way of saying thank you to all of the artists, creatives and designers who have donated work, from new graduates to established artists and Tracey Emin, the support has been overwhelming. To celebrate the event, we are excited to be collaborating again with London-based artist Greg Eason and The Contemporary London during our final week at the gallery

From Thursday 27th September the AAK gallery will be selling a range of Greg Eason’s original artwork, limited edition prints and t-shirts, with the proceeds supporting the opportunities AAK offers to young people.

We serve fresh events daily. Say hello on Facebook www.facebook.com/informedlondon
