Smith & Sinclair’s The Flavour Gallery at The Hoxton Basement until 17 December 2017

The gallery pop-up invites you to consume art in ways they never imagined by using the senses to explore each piece of original artwork. 👆 😛

The Flavour Gallery features some of the most awe-inspiring artists of today including Bowie collaborator Terry Pastor, weaving masters London Loom and visual artist Anja Predojevic, who have been commissioned to create interactive artwork that challenges perceptions of what a gallery should be.

The Hoxton Basement plays host to artwork beyond imagination, art that changes colour, diffuses delightful smells and reacts to its audience. With latex-heavy works from artist Tom O’Hare in association with intimate lifestyle brand LELO, The Flavour Gallery will also feature God’s Own Junkyard, a cocktail bar in partnership with Lanique and a gift shop selling unique works exclusive to visitors.

Sponsored by Diageo – Cocktail Crashers vs the weeknight #letsCOCKTAIL

We’re excited for summer and as only modest cocktail makers we’re always on the lookout for exciting new recipes that are easy to understand.

Our favourite venues across London this summer for cocktail drinking include Frank’s rooftop over in Peckham based in a car park, it’s not a big secret (sometimes the queues go for down a couple of floors in the car park!) but it’s also a fantastic vantage point and the food is amazing. Don’t expect burgers and chips, the chefs serve up a tasty selection of meaty and veggie options. Brixton Village, under the railway arches, is another amazing venue which isn’t a secret… The market houses dozens of independent restaurants and bars ranging from far-east Sushi to South American feasts. Market Row is the extra bit across the road, also under railway arches, including Seven at Brixton, which serves up trendy tapas and cocktails.

Having enjoyed the delights of London’s amazing cocktails we’re desperate to make them at home and show off at summer BBQs.

To get us into the spirit (pun intended) The Cocktail Crashers show us how to make a pimped up G&T for after work!

From favourites cocktails from thebar.com include:
– The ‘No Problemo’ Mojito
– The Pimm Daddy
And of course, the
– The OMG&T

You can find loads of easy to make cocktails on their website, also see how to make cocktails from just the ingredients left over in your kitchen and get involved on social media by sharing what your’re up to on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #letsCOCKTAIL

Get started now! Use these tips:
1. If you don’t have sugar syrup replace with sugar or honey
2. Experiment by adding your favourite fruit
3. Chill your glasses for a few minutes

Visitors will be ordained into the sacred order of the Monks of Bernaise and immersed in the tawdry brotherhood.

Afterwards they will be invited into the monastery’s mess and will receive the sacraments of Hellfire Stew and Absinthe before descending in to the dark subterranean chamber where the ritual takes place.

Chief Abbot, Phil of Kay and his cast of 12 monks will lead his devoted audience through an evening of the sacred and profane in equal measures.

Lemonade and Laughing Gas invite you to an immersive dining experience, as they reimagine and reconstruct the Diner de Têtes Surrealiste, dinner party.

Clues about the event are being unveiled in the weeks leading to the event, and for those that wish, a map will be available from three different starting points, to lead you to the party in the way that L&LG know best.

The eating part of the evening will be art installation crossed with experimental dining. The menu has been imagined by ex Moro chef Flo Hillier, and is inspired by the 1972 menu’s oddities such as ‘Chevres hurlant de Tristesse’ (roughly translated as ‘cheese of goat screaming in post-coital sadness’). Mixologist Alex Orwin will provide mind-bending cocktails and expertly paired drinks.
