Dubstep don Mala from Digital Mystikz knocked a lot of socks off earlier this year with his ‘Mala in Cuba’ album, which blended traditional, deep dubstep with Cuban influences. Tonight sees Mala take his Cuban concept to the stage of Electric Brixton with the help of album cohort Giles Peterson. Gear yourself for bone-shaking bass swarthed in exotic vibes, and make sure you don’t miss the support act, one Moritz von Oswald – formerly one half of hugely influential German dub-techno act Basic Channel.

Two huge stadium personalities go head-to-head in South London’s Electric Brixton, as Montreal club-thumping electro sensation A-Trak, he of Duck Sauce/’Barbra Streisand’ fame and chosen by Kanye to be his tour DJ, pits his DJ chops against the UK’s own Mark Ronson, perhaps best known for producing everyone from Amy Winehouse to Ghostface Killah. Expect Brixton to be buckling under the weight of no-frills party house and jump-started electro anthems as the pair pull out banger after banger in their clash.
