Streetfest at Gillett Square on Saturday 15 September 2018

Gillett Square, the East London creative hub, is hosting the tenth Streetfest: the UK’s premier urban culture festival, bursting with street art, dance, fashion, sport, food, and of course, music. 🎶 🍔

For ten years Streetfest has pulled together the newest and most iconic talents from London’s vibrant underground culture, and this weekend, there’s to be a huge party to celebrate one decade since its inception.

For one day only, people of all ages can enter the festival for free and see an impressive Selectors Assemble takeover of the main stage, with scene originators from the Plastic People club days and new talents taking to the decks.

Up-and-coming influencers will also be featured on the ‘On The Rise’ stage, which will see nine fantastic new acts handpicked by local music champions Music is Remedy.

Elsewhere, choose the street dance you want to see, as well as the S-K-A-T-E tourna-ment that’s running throughout the day! Make sure you catch the live work of Paint Freaks, who will be turning Gillett Square into a veritable museum of graffiti and murals.

There will also be an all-day children’s play area in Gillett Square and another in Hackney Town Hall Square from 12-4pm, as well as a carnival finale party at Ridley Road and Gillett Square featuring global foods, arts and music.
