Eat Your Own Ears presents: Spank Rock live show + Special guest

Kool disco mc SPANK ROCK aka Naeem Juwan, the harbinger of the party-rap explosion of the mid-2000s, announces a show at London’s Scala in anticipation of his second album.

Spank Rock’s second full length album, Everything is Boring and Everyone is a Fucking Liar, was released September 27, 2011 on Bad Blood Records. The first single from the album, titled “Energy,” produced by Boys Noize and based on a beat from Can’s song “Vitamin C” – is already creating buzz online. The upcoming album will feature productions from Boys Noize, XXXChange, Diplo, Crystal Castles, Pharrell and Sam Spiegel, and features Santigold.

The pop and rock influences join those of club rap to create a polished, melodic multi-faceted brilliance.

Kyle Myricks aka Stalley is a rapper from Massillon, Ohio. Despite an aspiring basketball career, a sporting injury forced Stalley to quit ball and focus his career path towards music. In 2008 after connecting with Ohio DJ Terry Urban, he released his first mixtape Goin Ape (2008), shortly followed by MadStalley: The Autobiography (2009) and most recently Lincoln Way Nights (Intelligent Trunk Music) (2011), which is named after the popular strip in Stalley’s hometown.

Signed to the Maybach Music Group, Stalley is currently on tour in Europe and when he passes through London, what better way to make his presence known than with a show sponsored by Trapstar London.

If you didn’t go to Serious About Street Dance at the beginning of the year then you missed out on an amazing show, but no worries the battles will be live adrenaline filled battle grounds displaying a wide variety of different street dance forms, Popping,locking, Bboying, Waacking, Krump, House and more.

The battles will be held every first Thursday of the month, NikeID who are supporting the event will be on hand to give dancers or spectators a chance to do some live customisations.

There will also be cash prizes for the battles winners and on top a NikeID one-on-one session for a pair of customised Nike Hyperfuse trainers. There is a lot to play for meaning the battles will be tough and ruthless, teams pulling any tricks out of the bag.

Get there early as it will get busy.
