There’s something for everyone whether you are a novice or an expert, new this year try the early morning sessions – perfect for little skaters and families, leading into picturesque afternoons and bustling evenings.

Early Birds
New for this year, Tower of London Ice Rink has two early morning sessions at 9am and 10am on Saturdays and Sundays and daily from December 18. With little penguin skate aids available to lend a helping hand, they’re great for novices and young children, and they’re open to all ages.

Skate & Prosecco Ticket
Add extra sparkle to the festive skating experience with a glass or fizz. The Tower of London Ice Rink is offering the special ticket which includes an ice skating session and a mini bottle of Prosecco in the Café Bar for £22 – a fabulous idea for a date or mates’ night out and the views are just beautiful.

We Are Family
Skating at Tower of London Ice Rink is a fantastic fun day out for all ages so take all the family and create special festive memories! It doesn’t matter whether you’ve never been on the ice before – the little penguins are there to help! – or you’re an expert, everyone will love it.

Experience the thrill of skating surrounded by fairy lights nestled in frost-covered trees, with the smell of mulled wine and toasted marshmallows in the air.

Whether you can dance on ice like Torvill and Dean, or your skating moves are more akin to Bambi, a visit to the Museum’s Ice Rink is a must this festive season.

Soak up the atmosphere from the new Café Bar and balcony. The bar has a bird’s-eye view of the rink and is open daily until the Ice Rink closes. Non-skaters are welcome.

Make it an essential stop during your visit to meet friends and warm up with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and mulled wine. Or take your pick from a range of delicious meals and a variety of wines, beers and soft drinks.

One of the best things about winter in London is ice skating and the Natural History Museum ice rink is one of our favourites. The ice rink is located next to the museum creating a picturesque backdrop. There’s a giant Christmas tree in the middle of the main ice rink and twinkling lights on the surrounding trees – perfect for selfies and Facebook pics.

Everyone is welcome including absolute beginners. Staff accompany and quickly help anyone that’s a bit wobbly or needs tips. Children also have their own area attached to the main 1,000 metre ice rink. Cute little penguins are available to hire for children that need extra support (not real penguins of course!).

The open-air Eyeskate rink is situated in Jubilee Gardens, in the shadow of the London Eye. You don’t need to book a flight on the Eye in order to skate but various packages are on offer for those who wish to do so. Sessions last 45 minutes. Under-8s must be accompanied on the ice by an adult.

Winter Wonderland @ Hyde Park / until 6th Jan 2013

Winter Wonderland is now open! London’s spectacular destination has returned to Hyde Park and it’s all set to whip you up into a festive frenzy.

Over 100 festive rides and attractions will dazzle you throughout the site, tickets will be available from token booths. Make a child’s dream come true at Santa Land, and meet Santa in his famous grotto!

Winter Wonderland is free to enter, so join and enjoy the festive atmosphere. However you will need to buy tickets for the attractions and rides. Tickets for Ice Skating, The Magical Ice Kingdom, the Giant Observation Wheel and Zippos Circus are available to buy in advance.
