If you think you’ve seen it all before, you’re in for a real surprise… get ready for spectacular breakdancing magic.

Richard Essien, also known as Magical Bones, is one of the most exciting talents to have emerged from the magic industry.

In The Sleight of Dance he presents a collision of dance and magic undertaken by two disparate sides of the same persona. Set against an urban backdrop the story serves as an odyssey that sees the two characters journey towards a final encounter.

Born and raised in South East London, the magician and dancer has been entertaining audiences for over 10 years. Starting out his career as a professional hip hop dancer, he has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry including Madonna, Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys and Plan B. This exceptionally skilled break-dancer and a gifted showman went on to establish himself as one of the most respected and prominent figures within the UK hip hop scene.

For him, the next logical step was to combine this love of dance with his other true passion – magic.

And so he combined his loves; merging hip hop culture with his passion for sleight of hand creating an absolutely unique blend of utterly innovative terpsichorean magic.

With stunning visual magic and original dance pieces such as the ‘break dance straitjacket escape’, this is magic like no one else does it.

Drunch – Gin on a Boat
Drinking, on a boat? You betcha. Drunch does exactly what it says on the tin. Hosted by ‘The Butler’ (of Butler’s Gin fame no less), you’ll be literally ferried around the canals of East London in a kitted out canal boat, whilst being treated to expertly made and personalised gin-cocktails courtesy of the main man himself. Ahoy there, captain! Mine’s a Pickle Juice Martini if you please.

Simon Drakes House of Magic
Hosted in a mysterious mansion in central London, Simon Drake’s magic extravaganza is a wildly unique event boasting a two-course dinner, an enchanting magic show and spooky-cum-hilarious tours of ‘the haunted cellar’. The ‘Springtime Surprises’ event at the end of March is set to be a stonker.

Pop Up Ping Pong at Boxpark
Famed for throwing ping-pong parties all over London, the guys at PUPP are this time hosting their popular event from Boxpark Shoreditch. There’ll be burgers, boozing, dancing, and of course, plenty of wiff-waff. Beats the gym, surely? Of course it does; see you courtside.

Black Cat Cabaret
Held at a secret palatial building in King’s Cross, The Black Cat Cabaret boasts decadent performances, impressive acts and a debaucherous vibe. Head here for an exclusive dinner whilst you enjoy the varied show, before partying on down till the early hours at the infamous Black Cat after-party. Expect acrobatics, cabaret and plenty of ahh-inducing moments.

Kinema and Kocktails at Cellar Door
Hosted from a former public toilet, Kinema and Kocktails is a weekly event at Cellar Door; a luxurious cabaret bar sitting underneath an opulent London hotel. Showcasing a number of cult-classics ranging from ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ to ‘Some Like It Hot’, each week the venue is transformed into a cutesy pop up cinema. On top of the cult-movie, guests are also treated to a silent film accompanied by the legendary Pete Saunders on the keyboard. Eat that, Sunday hangover!
