Roof East and Social Fun & Games Club at Stratford open until 30 September 2018

London’s biggest and best adventure playground for grown ups (big kids, really) at Roof East has had a celebratory makeover for 2018 – this year SFG Club has run off to the circus to celebrate 250 years of all things spectacular, and invites you to join it. The Circus originated right here in London town, and what way better way to celebrate this milestone than with this modern Circus playground. Sunsets, Olympic Park views, a round of golf, a swing and a hit, a hip-hop bowl and some street food to gorge on – what could be better? Roll up, Roll up to the Greatest Playground on Earth! 🎪 🌇

The roof is dressed in bell-tents and jugglers, providing the perfect backdrop for at-altitude gaming. A new look Birdies mini-golf set-up, Sluggers batting cages and hip-hop bowls will all be honouring the great art of Circus entertainment this year.

There’s a bar for everyone at Roof East this year – care for a low-cal kombucha cooler? Or perhaps a matcha tea cocktail? Bring on the cocktails (and the clowns!), they have you covered with the Roof East bar which will be serving up some delicious house punches. The SFG Club bar throws it all the way back to the 90’s with Singapore Slings and Alabama Slammers flying all over the shop before landing in your hand – and there’s even a Circus-themed cocktail – The Big Top Spritz – vodka, passionfruit and vanilla topped with prosecco. Watch out for the flaming cocktails being juggled between bartenders, if you’re lucky you might just get one. They fly through the air with the greatest of ease, those daring young bartenders on the flying cocktail trapeze I hear you say!

And supplying the Roof East bar with herbs for the drinks are GrowUp Box, Roof East’s resident educators in all things sustainable food. They produce salads and herbs in cities using a combination of aquaponic and vertical growing technologies. The GrowUp Box is definitely worth a visit when you’re done with the Circus! And if it’s food you’re after, you’ve come to the right place – the king of pop ups himself is back. Jimmy Garcia will be offering delicious summery grub including seaside classics like fish and chips, surf and turf and our favourite, halloumi fries.

If gaming ain’t your thing, Roof East will be offering Vinyasa Flow Yoga classes for all levels, put on by yoga enthusiasts Flow East Yoga. Grab tickets for one hour sessions on Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the summer.

Rooftop Film Club will be screening an epic selection of cinema treats up at Roof East as well this year – just look out for the stripey deck-chairs and a special Circus themed screening of ‘Moulin Rouge’.

From the creators of the Rooftop Film Club comes a brand new film experience especially for Halloween. On Tuesday 30th October, the eve of Halloween, they bring you two spook-tacular screenings in association with Universal Pictures, the studio that pioneered the horror genre.

The fang-tastic film fest commences with a special family matinee screening of Steven Spielberg’s unforgettable adventure ‘E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial’.

As darkness falls we present the hilarious ‘Shaun of the Dead’. This much loved zombie themed romantic comedy starring Simon Pegg became an instant cult classic upon its release in 2004.

The scares don’t stop there as on Halloween itself they bring you two more classic movies to get your horror loving fangs into! It’s another one for your little monsters with a matinee screening of the paranormal pleasing ‘Ghostbusters’. Starring comedy giants Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray, this supernatural classic is loved as much now as it was when it was released in 1984.

And for the grand finale on Halloween night itself what better way to end your horror holiday than with John Carpenter’s 1978 classic ‘Halloween’! Prepare to be scared as they unleash this classic horror movie in a church.

Don’t miss your chance to see classic Halloween horror films on the BIG SCREAM in this completely unique environment.

Fancy dress is encouraged.

This September the Rooftop Film Club brings you a somewhat wooden performance from ‘Team America’, a provocative femme fatale ‘Gilda’, stylish ‘Cocktail’, an action-packed ‘Top Gun’, the hilarious ‘This is Spinal Tap’, the malevolently mischievous ‘Gremlins’, the romantic ‘Dirty Dancing’, the delightfully demented ‘Beetlejuice’, and the magical ‘The Wizard of Oz’.
