Beer lovers are invited to try one of the kegs with expertly curated food pairings at a special event.

Guests are able to help the team operate on their very own Brooklyn Brewery corpse in a grown up game of ‘Operation’, removing a selection of offal-based dishes, prepared Yakitori style, and pairing these with a taster of Cloaking Device to emphasise key flavours and characteristics of the beer itself. 🍻🍺

This month sees the release of Brooklyn Brewery’s Cloaking Device in the UK, a rare and unique aged porter created by award-winning brewmaster Garrett Oliver and his barrel-aging team. This limited-edition beer is part of Brooklyn Brewery’s continued experimentation and innovation with beer, known as their ‘quarterly experiments’.

Cloaking Device(ABV 10.5%), stands as a tribute to the porters of the past. A strong porter brewed with the Brettanomyces yeast strain, the beer is aged for nine months in French oak red wine barrels, hand-bottled and re-fermented in the bottle with champagne yeast. The resulting drink is a versatile companion for food including barbecued venison or dry-aged steak and hearty cheese, boasting earthy aromas, a thrilling rush of cacao-like fruitiness, hints of vanilla and pineapple, a touch of acidity, an underlying forest-floor funk and the powerful murmur of French oak barrels. The beautifully dry finish then cuts through and provides the element of surprise to the palate – the true power of Cloaking Device.

British graphic artist Patrick Thomas. Silkscreened bold heart ideograms combined with found imagery and collage will be a recurring motif throughout the exhibition, which is timed to coincide with the Feast of Saint Valentine.

100 BPM will be the artist’s first solo exhibition in London since 2008 and first time that this collection will be shown publicly.

The majority of works on show will be limited editions and unique pieces created using free-form screen printing and collage, a technique which the artist has been investigating over the past 18 months in Berlin and Barcelona. This work explores the area between the unique artwork and the edition. A selection of prints will be perforated with a laser cutter to simulate arrow shots. Several will have real arrows embedded into the gallery walls.
