There is intense national debate in both France and Britain about the way forward for integration despite their differing political approaches. Young people from ethnic minority communities should be at the forefront of these debates. OUTSPOKEN project is about connecting and comparing experiences of young people between Paris and London. Listen to their voices…

Launch night:
To launch the video installation by French artist Melik Ohanian young people from East London will perform their own rap and spoken word on the theme of identity and belonging. During a weekend workshop with MC Angel and Deanna Rodger young people from diverse ethnic backgrounds learnt how to create their own work and perform it to a live audience. These workshops follow on from rap/spoken word already created by young people from diverse ethnic backgrounds in Paris.

For more info – visit Soulfire Theatre.

The exhibition will be open from Wednesday 4th May – Saturday 14 May 2011.
