TIME AND PLACE
Doors 7pm, screening 8.30pm
@ Folly for a Flyover,
Under the A12 Flyover,
Hackney Wick, E9 5HW
The penultimate weekend for this unusual summer screen, Folly for a Flyover is in the gap between the east and westbound traffic of the A12, transforming the cavernous undercroft where the motorway crosses the Lea Navigation Canal…
Friday 12th August programme of In the Dark is a night for audio shorts in the dark commissioned specially for the Folly, curated by Nina Garthwaite.
Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th August continue the Folly’s film programming with Wild at Heart, one of my favourite Lynch films and a great end to the summer, and Mad Max, a dystopic vengeance film perfectly suited to the location of the screen.
Check the programme here for the next weekend’s showing of Herzog’s Fitzcarraldo – the one where the river boat has to go over the mountain, for real – and Spirited Away by the masterminds at Studio Ghibli.
Not to be missed!
The Folly can be accessed by foot or bicycle along the towpath or from the Eastway. Nearest train station is Hackney Wick for the London Overground.
Buses: 26, N26, 30, 236, 276, 388, 488
