‘The Beat Is The Law – Fanfare For The Common People’ is a double disc documentary with 24 page colour booklet and exclusive special features. A deep-fried feature music documentary from the creators of the acclaimed ‘Made In Sheffield – The Birth Of Electronic Pop’ made with the full cooperation of the band, this film brings together original interviews, perfomances, promos, newly unearthed live footage and home videos to tell the story of Pulp and their contemporaries’ journey from the darkest industrial depths of Sheffield through Thatcher’s politically charged 80s to becoming the pinnacle of britpop. Featuring a panoramic view of the city’s music scene, the documentary also takes in tales from Warp Records, Richard Hawley’s Longpigs, Adi Newton (Clock DVA) and many more.

Produced by Sheffield Vision and directed by Dutch filmmaker Eve Wood.
