To all budding writers, film-makers and avid book readers the Soho literary festival started yesterday and is on until tomorrow head down and loose yourself in one of the many events they have on.

There will be a multitude of different events on, with talks by critically acclaimed writers Howard Jacobson, Michael Morpurgo, PD James, Diana Athill and many others. Although predominantly literary (as it says on the tin!) there will be something for everyone! Film-makers Ken Loach and Molly Dineen will be discussing their craft, renowned chef and food-writer Rose Prince will be cooking up a delicious lunch at Black’s, and Mighty Boosh star Rich Fulcher will be performing after his hugely successful show in Edinburgh.
On top of that we have Richard Ingrams talking on the Private Eye, a Faber Academy for budding writers, and a discussion about freedom of speech and phone-hacking with a panel that includes Bafta-nominated Simon Singh and Julian Assange’s defence lawyer Geoffrey Robertson QC.
