Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park until 6 January 2019

Back for 2018 and we think it’s going to be the best year yet! They’ve got lots of new attractions including Peter Pan on Ice, Teletubbies Christmas Show, Ice Sculpting Workshops, and their very own Comedy Club but let’s not forget our returning favourites, including an even bigger ice rink, jaw dropping acts in the Circus MegaDome and so much more. 🎅 🎄 🤶

For over 10 years, Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland has been spreading the Christmas spirit throughout London. The winter festival has become a landmark event for Londoners and tourists alike. With humble beginnings as an open-air Christmas market in Hyde Park, Winter Wonderland has since grown into an extravaganza with ice skating, shows, roller coaster rides, street food stalls, festive bars and live music.

It is still free to enter the Winter Wonderland grounds and take in the joyous atmosphere. With over 100 spectacular rides and attractions, it is no wonder why thousands of visitors return to Winter Wonderland each year to celebrate the Christmas season. Winter Wonderland is located in the heart of London in Hyde Park. As one of the capital’s 8 Royal Parks, Hyde Park is visited by millions of Londoners and tourists every year.

Covering 350 acres, it’s home to a number of famous landmarks including the Serpentine Lake, Speakers’ Corner and Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain.

Over the past 15 years the Serpentine Pavilion has become an international site for architectural experimentation, presenting inspirational temporary structures by some of the world’s greatest architects. A much-anticipated landmark in London each summer, the Pavilion is one of the top-ten most visited architectural and design exhibitions in the world.

Spanish architects selgascano designed the 15thSerpentine Pavilion. The award-winning studio, headed by José Selgas and Lucía Cano, is the first Spanish architecture practice to be asked to design the temporary Pavilion on the Serpentine’s lawn in London’s Kensington Gardens. In keeping with the criteria of the scheme, this is the studio’s first new structure in the UK. The Pavilion is an amorphous, double-skinned, polygonal structure consisting of panels of a translucent, multi-coloured fluorine-based polymer (ETFE) woven through and wrapped like webbing.

You can enter and exit the Pavilion at a various points, passing through a ‘secret corridor’ between the outer and inner layer of the structure and into the Pavilion’s brilliant, stained glass-effect interior.
