London Remixed Festival at Rich Mix from Friday 1 Saturday 2 January 2019

Expect remixed sounds from Latin Grooves, Afrobeats, Tropical Bass, Vintage-Remix, Desert Remix, Balkan Beats, Urban Roots, Acoustic Soundclash, Reggae-Dub, Brass Band Remix and more! ? ? ? ?

A celebration of the best emerging musical talent and genres. This 2 days festival is all about creativity, fun and madness, complete with buzzing atmosphere and music.

London is a powerhouse of musical innovation and The London Remixed Festival brings you the finest selection for 2019. Expect performances from over 25 cutting edge bands and DJs across 4 stages over 2 days, all in one vibrant venue nested in the heart of Shoreditch.

The London Remixed Festival is brought to you by some of the most dynamic festival organisers, venue promoters and music agencies the UK has to offer. We aim to create the perfect festival experience; indoor camping areas to chill out, fully converted disco lift to navigate between the stages and a silent disco café. Continental Drifts; the producers of the most rocking festival stages across the globe, are excited to be back, joining forces once again with their music partners Movimientos, Wormfood, Two for Joy, Woodburner, Polka Club and MARSM.

Back for a 43rd year boasting a unique line-up that celebrates the very best of the city and countryside. With over 170,000 people attending in 2016, the show is now one of the biggest public events in the UK.

Roots Reggae Day is back again for 2017. Expect a whole host of international and legendary talent of reggae, dub and ska throughout the day.

Bugle
His love for dancehall and reggae music began from an early age, while he was going to primary school. He did not got
his break until 2000 when he met with fellow dancehall artiste Oniel Bryan popular known as Elephant man. This led to him started writing songs for Elephant man. In 2001 he was featured on his “Good To Go” Tour. Bugle was also featured on BET’s 106 and Park and Appearance 2002 MTV Awards in Japan.

Queen Omega
Hailing from San Fernando in Trinidad. Encouraged by her mother (to whom she pays moving tribute on “Mama”), she began entering local talent shows from the age of nine, writing her own calypsos and even rapping on national television. Now under the management of Graeme Sealy and Trini Productions; Queen Omega continues to tour the Caribbean and Europe and has performed on many of the largest Reggae festival stages such as; Reggae Rising (USA), SNWMF (USA), JaSound (France), African Music Festival (Germany) and Sao Paulo (Brazil).

Mafia & Fluxy
Blood brothers and masters of drums and bass guitar. They are known as the Sly and Robbie of the UK. With 30 years in the business producing music for every jamaican legendary name, they have toured and produced music for artists like Luciano, Gregory Issacs, John holt, Horace Andy, Beres Hammond, Taurus Rily to mention a few. Mafia and Fluxy are the nicest guys and the Talent of reggae music backing up many of our star names on LCS Roots day.

Michael Prophet
Prophet is a legendary Jamaican performer from 1977 now resident in the UK and has energy that excels. His 1980 album ‘Serious Reasoning’ was released by Island Records in the UK, establishing his reputation internationally. Michael Prophet thrives on live stage performance and his enthusiasm is infectious.

Abacush
Hailing from South london were the 80’s girlpower band in reggae.
They have a strong roots sound with soul. Abacush have reformed for 2017 and bring their joyful vibes to Lambeth Country Show.

Christopher Ellis
Son of the late great Alton Ellis, one of the rock steady heroes of reggae music. Alton had a record shop in Brixton for many years, was based in the UK and toured worldwide. His son Christopher sounds remarkably like his father, and is also a great vocal artist. See him live with his own Ellis brand of reggae and playing tribute to his father.

Teshay Makeda
Coming from a musical background, Teshay Makeda has been singing since the age of seven. She started showcasing with The Twelve Tribes of Israel and she was part of the school choir. At the age of ten, she joined Vocal Zones Productions where she was vocally trained really improving her performance ability. These foundations have moulded Teshay into the artist that she is today.

General Roots
Fresh to the UK reggae scene, but are offer the finest dub and heavyweight lovers rock. The band tour internationally with artists like Hollie Cook and they are masters of their craft and will kick off the Main Stage.

A special Valentine’s screening of Funny Face, starring Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire. Taking place at Grade-II listed Stanley Halls in South Norwood.

Continuing on from the success of last year’s Valentine’s s creening of Cinema Paradiso, the organisers are paying homage to the 1957 musical by transforming the venue into fashionable 1950s Paris, including chic cafes, bohemian bars and dancing!

Delicious sweet and savoury crêpes will be available from Brixton-based L’Amuse Bouche and independent coffee shop Coffee Craft will be open selling hot drinks and desserts. The film will be followed by live music from the Tootsie Rollers, a retro band with a unique sound that fuses old-school classics with contemporary hits!

Pablo Villierezz aka Panther Panther is an AV artist and DJ from Mexican origin, playing delightful electronica from Latin America. His unique blend of Electro-Cumbia and Digital Folkloric sounds, takes you on a retro-futuristic journey into space and beyond! With releases on Tropical Twista Records & Le Ronca Records, Villierezz is showing the world the intersection between the Tropical Bass vibe and that Bristol Sound.

There’ll also be a little live treat from London’s freshest Bloco, Casa Da Cachaça the breaks come thick and fast from these 10 drummers led by mestre Fred Turuka.

Ru Robinson is rightly recognised as one of the key players in Bristols vibrant Tropical scene. His broad collection of global music is lovingly selected for the dance floor, with focus on the diverse sounds of Latin America, Africa and the Caribbean, often delving into the irresistible influences of Funk, Dancehall and Swing.
